Joint patrols | Russian and Turkish forces tour M4, and unknown gunmen attack Turkish vehicle

SOHR activists have monitored Russian and Turkish forces running a new patrol this morning on Aleppo-Latakia international highway (M4). Unlike the previous patrols, today’s patrol set off from Ain Hour village in the northern countryside of Latakia to Tarnabeh village in the eastern countryside of Idlib. According to SOHR sources, a Turkish vehicle was attacked. The attack is believed to be carried out by RPGs, but no casualties have been reported.

On August 12, SOHR sources reported deployment of Turkish forces along M4 highway in Idlib countryside, just before conducting a new joint patrol between Russian and Turkish forces. The patrol set off from Tarnabeh village in eastern Idlib to Ain Hoor area, the last stop on the highway in rebel-held areas in the northern countryside of Latakia. It is worth noting that this patrol came nearly 20 days after the latest one.
