Old ordnance | Landmine explodes, killing girl and injuring young man in northern Aleppo countryside

SOHR sources have reported that a girl was killed and a young man was injured killed, as a landmine left over from war exploded today in the town of Tal al-Hawa, east of the city of Al-Ra’i, within the areas held by Turkish-backed factions, north of Aleppo.

An increasing number of people killed recently by a landmine, unexploded bombs, and collapse of war-damaged residential buildings in various Syrian areas and cities such as Homs, Hama Deir Ezzor, Aleppo, and southern Syria.

The Syrian Observatory has documented since January 2019 to date some 334 fatalities, including 66 women and 99 children. Of the total number, the Syrian Observatory documented the deaths of 45 people, including 30 women and five children, in their search and collect for “Syrian wild truffles”, which put their lives at risk, “Syrian wild truffles” grow in areas that are exposed to heavy rains and are sold at high prices.
