Kidnapped and tortured | unknown individuals release member of security forces and threaten to kill him if he returns to work
Deir ez-Zor Province- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
SOHR activists say that unknown assailants, believed to be Islamic State cells in western countryside of Deir al-Zour, kidnapped a member of the Internal Security Forces, while leaving al-Hawaij center in the village of Al-Sa’awa, and took him to an unknown location.
The kidnappers threatened the member with death if he did not leave the “Security Forces”, and then threw him in an orchard near his home in the village of Al-Sa’awa, after being tortured by them.
SOHR activists said earlier that U.S. forces and SDF have arrested a former SDF member, after he defected from the Islamic State, from his worckplace near the bridge of al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and took him to his home in the village of Al-Zar in eastern countryside Deir ez-Zor, and then took him to an unknown destination after searching his home.
It is worth nothing that the detainee was a former member of the Islamic State before joining SDF and retired after being imprisoned and subjected to a failed assassination attempt in the village of Al-Raz.
The security chaos continues and is concentrated in Deir ez-Zor countryside within SDF-held areas, where ISIS cells are active targeting the SDF and security posts there.
SOHR activists have documented today the killing of an SDF official of “Komin” (local committees), after being shot by unknown gunmen at livestock market in Jammah village in the eastern sector of Deir Ezzor province.
