Murder | Man and his wife shot dead in Salqin

Idlib Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that a man and his wife were shot dead in their house in Salqin city in the north-southern countryside of Idlib. The identity of the perpetrator has been unknown so far, but believed to be the wife’s father.

On August 15, Observatory sources said that unknown gunmen shot dead an Iraqi refugee in Salqin city centre, while he was on his way to the mosque for Dawn prayer. According to local sources, the victim, a civilian with special needs, was displaced to Idlib countryside years earlier, and he settled in Salqin city where he worked as spice dealer.

It is worth noting that HTS security services summoned the Iraqi refugee a few months earlier, during the increasing activities of ISIS cells in areas near the Turkey border.

SOHR activists documented a day earlier a horrific murder in Salqin city in north-west of Idlib, as three people, including a woman, were killed following family disagreement.
