Daraa uprising | People stage vigil in Daraa Al-Balad, calling for release of detainees and end to security chaos

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored tens of people participating in a vigil in Daraa Al-Balad, demanding the disclosing of the fate of the kidnapped, and the release of detainees held in the Syrian regime’s prisons. The demonstrators also lifted placards with slogans written on them, blaming regime forces, security branches, and National Defence Committees for the kidnapping incidents and escalating security chaos.

On August 10, Observatory activists monitored growing tension in Daraa al-Balad in Daraa city, as locals cut off roads and set rubber tires on fire in Daraa camp, chanting slogans calling for the release of detainees held in the Syrian regime’s prisons.
