No Water Supply In Syria’s Al Hasakah Since A Week, Turkish Forces Responsible

Since last week, there has been little to no water supply in Syria’s northeastern province of Al Hasakah, according to local sources. Turkish forces, who are in control of the Alouk water station in the northern countryside of Al Hasakah are responsible for this cut in the water supply, say the sources. The Alouk station apparently pumps water to 1 million people in Al Hasakah. Tankers run by the government are currently offering drinking water to residents in the area.

This is the eighth time that Turkey has cut off the water in the station to exert pressure on areas controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Al Hasakah, according to Britain-based watchdog, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. It has also been said that the Turkish side has cut off water in Al Hasakah as the Kurdish Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria had refused to feed electricity to areas controlled by the Turkey-backed rebels.
