Deir Ezzor | SDF release eight people from Al-Shuhayl after over 20 days of detention

Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Syria Democratic Forces released eight people from Al-Shuhayl town in eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor today. SDF had launched a security campaign in Al-Shuhayl on August 8, in which they arrested these people and took them to security centers. The reasons behind this arrest were not known at that time. However, SOHR sources say that SDF accused these people of “belonging to an ISIS cell”

On August 25, SOHR activists monitored tens of people participating in a demonstration in Al-Sh’aytat area in Abu Hamam village, east of Deir Ezzor, demanding SDF and the International Coalition release the prisoners of Al-Sh’aytat held in SDF prisons. The demonstrators set rubber tires on fire blocking Abu Hamam village’s main roads.
