Al-Hasakah | Turkish-backed “Local Council” in Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) open commercial crossing with Turkish territory

Reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that the “Local Council” in Ras Al-Ain city (Sere Kaniye) in Al-Hasakah countryside, backed by the Turkish government, opened a new crossing with Turkish territory. According to SOHR sources, the plot of land where the crossing was set up belongs to one of the city’s indigenous people who have been displaced during “Peace Spring” operation. It is worth noting that most of these lands are owned to a person of the Armenians. Meanwhile, the new crossing will be used for transporting goods from and to the “Peace Spring” areas.

Observatory activists had monitored Turkish forces and their proxy factions in “Peace Spring” areas in north-eastern Syria, sweeping away the archaeological hill of “Sahlan”. The hill is located in the western countryside of Tal Abyad in northern Al-Raqqah where the Turkish forces and their proxies intend to set up a new military base and loot the archaeological site’s artefacts.

On August 29, reliable sources informed SOHR that Turkish-backed factions steal electricity power towers and pylons in “Peace Spring” areas in Ras Al-Ain countryside. According to SOHR sources, members of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” and “Sultan Murad” took apart electricity power towers and pylons in the villages of Matlah, Lazqah, Beit Jamalu, Beit Takno and Tal Sakhr in Ras Al-Ain countryside.

The Turkish-backed militiamen took the stolen towers and pylons to outdoor places near the warehouses where other stolen objects have been stored, in preparation to sell them in Turkey as scrap.

On the other hand Turkish-backed factions continue looting civilians’ properties in “Peace Spring” areas, amid ongoing inaction by Turkey.
