Daraa uprising | Demonstrators block streets and encircle regime security checkpoint over the arrest of old man

Daraa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have monitored popular protests today in Al-Harrak city in Daraa countryside. The demonstrators set tires on fire, blocking the city’s streets, while other young people encircled a checkpoint affiliated to the regime’s Air-Force Intelligence in the city. These development comes in the wake of arresting a 70-year old man, while he was heading to Izraa city, amid the demonstrators’ calls for releasing him immediately.

 

SOHR sources said earlier that regime forces stationed at Mankat al-Hatab checkpoint arrested a civilian on August 30, while he was on his way to Tal Shihab town in Daraa countryside from Damascus.

 

On August 29, members of the Air-Force Intelligence branch stationed in Tasil town arrested a civilian from Saham al-Golan area, and he was taken to an unknown destination.

 

While on August 27, regime forces arrested a resident from Da’el city at a checkpoint in the city.

 

Regime forces stationed at Mankat al-Hatab checkpoint also arrested a resident from Da’el city on August 26, while he was on his way to Damascus.

 

A day earlier, regime forces arrested a civilian from Da’el city at the “Centre” checkpoint, south of the capital, Damascus, and took him to an unknown destination.
