Statement | “Al-Bakir Tribes’ Council” responds to Sheikh “Al-Hamada”, asking him not to interfere in the clan’s affairs

Deir ez-Zor Province- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The newly formed Al-Bakir Tribal Council called via a statement on Sheikh Abdul Aziz Suleiman al-Hammada, tribal chief of the “al-Bakir” clan, not to interfere in the affairs of the clan as he resides abroad, in response to the yesterday’s statement of Sheikh “Al-Hamada”, in which he disowned the  of the military council and its president “Ahmed al-Khabil.”

The Al-Bakir Tribal Council rejected Sheikh Al-Hamada’s request to remove “Ahmed al-Khabil” from the post of emir of Al-Bakir clans.

The meeting took place at Ahmed al-Khabeil’s house in the village of Al-Rubaydah in the town of al-Sour in northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

Yesterday, Abdul Aziz Suleiman al-Hammada, the tribal leader of “Al-Bakir” tribe, issued a statement addressing the people of Deir ez-Zor in general and the “Al-Akidat” tribe in particular, disowning the commander of the Deir al-Zour Military Council, Ahmed al-Khabil “Abu Khawla”.

This comes as “al-khabil” failed to fulfil his promises to the people of the region that he will be an objective equivalent to the (terrorists) PKK and PYD, which constitute the backbone of the SDF, to prevent these parties from controlling Deir ez-Zor province, as happened in Al-Hasaka and Raqqa provinces.

He added that “al-Khabil made the people believe in the ability and readiness of its military council to manage the affairs of Deir ez-Zor, with the local councils, and to provide an acceptable model for the International Coalition, which contributes to the independence of Deir ez-Zor and the away from SDF”.

The statement also stated that “it turned out that al-Khabil was a tool manipulated by SDF to implement its agenda.

The Syrian Observatory published last month that “Al-Bakir” tribe of “Al-Akidat” tribe invited tribal elders of their tribe to a meeting to discuss the events that took place recently in Deir ez-Zor.
