Rural Ras al-Ain | Residents in village call for demonstration against Turkish-backed military police

SOHR activists say that residents of a village in Ras al-Ain countryside in the “Peace Spring” area called on neighbouring villages for a central demonstration in the village on Friday to confront the Turkish-backed military police.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, Turkish-backed factions fired in the air to terrorize the residents of the village of Lothi, adjacent to the village of Mdba’a, while distributing food aid.

A disagreement has occurred between the residents and the factions, and it evolved into tension between the two parties.

On August 27, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that Turkish forces distributed food aid containing sugar, rice, tomato paste and other items to residents of Masbagha village in Ras al-Ain countryside, attempting to appease discontent of the residents after the demonstrations and clashes that took place in the village a few days ago.

According to Observatory sources, some of the residents rejected the aid and renewed their call to Turkish-backed factions to leave the village, so that they could cultivate their land without resorting to this food aid.

Meanwhile, tension continues to prevail, amid military divisions that have evolved into civilian divisions in various areas of Ras al-Ain.
