Routine patrol | Russian forces tour surrounding areas of Al-Qahtaniyyah

SOHR activists have monitored Russian forces patrolling the surrounding areas of Al-Qahtamiyyah town in Al-Qamishli countryside, as a part of the Russian routine movements in the region.

SOHR sources reported earlier this afternoon that the people of the villages of “Karki Laki” district in the countryside of Al-Qamishli city rejected the setting up of a Russian military base in their areas.

According to SOHR sources, residents from Hayaka and Sermasakh Tahtani villages of “Karki Laki” district headed to the tent where Russian forces were stationed, and expressed their rejection of establishing a Russian military base in their villages.

Under the residents’ pressure, the Russian forces reversed their decision and returned to Al-Qamishli city.

On August 31, Observatory activists monitored nearly 13 Russian military vehicles, carrying logistical supplies, weapons, ammunition and fuel, heading from regime-controlled areas towards the Russian military base in Ain Issa area in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah.
