Afrin | Dispute over civilian homes sparks new clashes among Turkish-backed factions in Jandiras area

The Syrian Observatory has monitored today clashes with machine guns between “Jaish al-Islam” and “Noureddine al-Zinki” in Jandiras area, west of the Turkish-held town of Afrin, caused by a dispute over several houses in the village of Qujman and Ashkan, resulting in casualties on both sides.

Turkish-backed factions had sent in reinforcement to those areas to break up clashes between them.

It is worth nothing that the areas under the control of Turkish forces and proxy factions, are witnessing ongoing violations by Turkish-backed factions, by clamping down on the indigenous population and displaced civilians in these areas, while Turkish forces turns a blind eye to these violations.

In August, reliable SOHR sources confirmed that gunmen affiliated to the Turkish-backed brigade of “Sultan Mohammed Al-Fateh” asked a civilian to evacuate his house in Kurkan Foqani village, in the countryside of the Turkish-controlled city of Afrin.

The gunmen have claimed that the house owner’s wife worked for the “Komin” (local committees) during the control of Kurdish forces of Kurkan Foqani village. They also threatened to expel the house owner from Afrin canton unless he gives his wife up, who is now in Aleppo city.

On the other hand, another civilian from the same countryside was arrested for unknown reasons.
