Coronavirus | Total number of infected people jumps to 100 in north-western Syria, and number of recovery cases rises to 64

Health authorities have recorded five new coronavirus cases in the cities of Al-Bab and Jarabulus in the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions in the northern Aleppo countryside.

The number of recovery cases in north-western Syria has risen to 64. Tests were carried out on 6,172 cases across north-western Syria.

According to Observatory statistics, the number of confirmed cases, since July 9 to date, rose to 98, including two doctors were residing in Turkey.

Breakdown of the cases is as follows: 43 cases, including medical staff in HTS-held areas in Idlib, parts of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, and 53 cases in the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions, north of Aleppo.

On August 18, health authorities documented the death of an elderly woman infected with the coronavirus in al-Dana town in Idlib countryside.
