After nearly 40 days of tense calm | Turkish-backed factions shell Tal Tamr countryside
Syrian Observatory activists have monitored artillery shelling this evening by Turkish-backed factions, targeting the villages of Um Al-Khair, Um Al-Kaif and Abboush in Tal Tamr countryside.
The opposition factions stationed in Mash’afaa village also have fired several rockets on Mannakh villages, which is under the control of the same factions, in Tal Tamr countryside. It is worth noting that today’s shelling stopped just minutes after it had started.
This shelling comes after tens calm in the area since July 27.
Observatory activists reported earlier this morning that clashes erupted in the early hours of Saturday morning between Turkish-backed factions and Syria Democratic Forces, on frontlines of the western countryside of Tal Abyad in northern Al-Raqqah. The clashes were accompanied by exchange of shelling, amid reports about casualties on both sides.
Yesterday, SOHR sources said that Turkish forces and proxy factions shelled the villages of Afdako and Kobarlik in the western countryside of Tel Abyad. No casualties were reported.
This shelling came after a tense calm on the frontlines of Tel Abyad for ten days.
