ISIS resurgence in SDF-held areas | Members detonate IED near security checkpoint, and others chant pro-ISIS slogans in Al-Busayrah city

Deir ez-Zor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that members, believed to be of the Islamic State, blew up a prefabricated room at a SDF checkpoint in the town of Al-Hawaij in Deir ez-Zor countryside, causing material damage.

SOHR sources reported today that four members of the Islamic State roamed the streets of al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zour on motorcycles, chanting pro-ISIS slogans “Islamic State will remain.”

On September 2, SOHR sources reported that four members of the Islamic State roamed the streets chanting “Islamic State will remain.”

They smashed “nargila” in the neighborhood of Juria, before fleeing to an unknown destination.

Yesterday, SOHR activists said that unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle attacked a civilian car carrying two people, one of them a SDF member and the other a former SDF commander, in the village of Al-Subha in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour, injuring them.

It is worth nothing that the former commander had handed over the wives of ISIS members to SDF years ago, with the help of another person who was working as the head of people’s committees in the city of Al-Busayrah, and was assassinated by ISIS members on March 3, 2019.
