Despite their high tuition | Idlib residents enroll their children in private schools

HTS-held areas have witnessed a decline in the standard of education in the previous school years, in the schools of the Salvation Government’s Directorate of Education. Private schools have become a preferred choice by parents, due to their advantages and the attention and follow-up given to students.

Students and their families face many obstacles, including fear of the spread of the coronavirus and Security chaos in the HTS-held areas, amid the instability in these areas.

In addition, the poor economic situation of most families and the high costs of education in private schools.

There is a great demand for private schools and institutes by parents to register their children, despite the high monthly instalments.  Private school charges approximately $40 per month per child.

These schools are located in crowded residential areas such as Idlib, Sarmada, al-Dana, Harem, Hazano, and others, while the quarterly instalment in other private schools is approximately $200.

Parents enroll their children in this type of school because there are qualified teaching staff, more attention given to the student comparing to their counterparts of the Directorate of Education in Idlib, as well as the results achieved by private schools over decades. In Idlib, there have been private schools licensed for 50 years, and have graduated a large number of academics.
