New rivalry in “Peace Spring” areas | Clashes erupt between “Al-Hamza Division” and “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” in Tal Halaf

Reliable sources have informed SOHR that an armed fight erupted between gunmen of “Al-Hamza Division” and others of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” in Tal Halaf town in Ras Al-Ain countryside (Sere Kaniye). The clashes, which witnessed the interference of some residents to defuse tension between both sides, came in the light of ongoing disputes and violations in the region.

On September 8, Observatory activists reported clashes with light and medium weapons between groups of Turkish-backed factions in the center of Ras al-Ain town in the “Peace Spring” areas in Al-Hasakah countryside.

According to SOHR sources, the clashes flared up after a dispute over revenue-sharing of stolen objects and exchange of accusations among these conflicting militiamen of looting civilians and houses in the area. The clashes resulted in the injury of three people.
