Violations in “Peace Spring” areas | Factional clashes, displacement of families, looting houses and clamping down on people in Ras Al Ain

The Syrian Observatory has monitored today clashes with light and medium weapons between “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” and “al-Hamza Division” in the villages of Mabrouka, Mahmoudiyah and al-Qasimiyah in the “Peace Spring” areas. No casualties have been reported so far.

Observatory have reported that four Arab families have been displaced from the city of Ras al-Ain within the “Peace Spring”areas to the city of Hasakeh, which is under the control of SDF, due to the ongoing restrictions by Turkish-backed factions on these families, and accusing their children of collaborating with SDF.

Meanwhile, members of Turkish-backed factions robbed a house in Ras al-Ain, accusing its owners of belonging to SDF and Kurdish parties.

In the village of Rihanniya in Ras al-Ain countryside, members of the al-Hamza Division opened fire at close range from two women in the village. The members were behaving abnormally as they were under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, according to local sources.

Reliable SOHR sources say that quarrels erupted between residents and armed groups affiliated to “Al-Hamzat Division” in Al-Rayhana village in Ras Al-Ain countryside (Sere Kaniye) in rural Al-Hasakah. These quarrels come after the residents expressed their rejection to the daily violations by the faction’s militiamen, including thefts, looting, repression, daily raids, and security chaos in the area.

According to SOHR sources, a woman was hit with a gunshot fired by members of “Al-Hamzat Division” in Al-Rayhana village, and she was taken later to Ras Al-Ain hospital. Meanwhile, tension is growing in the village in the wake of repeated violations by the Turkish-backed militiamen.

SOHR sources had reported that an armed fight erupted between gunmen of “Al-Hamza Division” and others of “Ahrar Al-Sharqiyyah” in Tal Halaf town in Ras Al-Ain countryside (Sere Kaniye). The clashes, which witnessed the interference of some residents to defuse tension between both sides, came in the light of ongoing disputes and violations in the region.
