Coronavirus | 19 new confirmed cases, and total number of infected people rises to 170 in north-western Syria

Health authorities have recorded 19 new coronavirus cases in north-western Syria. Breakdown of the cases is as follows: eight in al-Bab city, six in Jarabulus city one in Azaz, one in Afrin, two in Idlib and one in al-Dana town.

Yesterday, the Syrian Observatory documented the death of a doctor who was infected with the coronavirus in northern Aleppo countryside, which is under the control of Turkish-backed factions.

According to Observatory statistics, the number of confirmed cases, since July 9 to date, rose to 170, including two doctors were residing in Turkey.

Breakdown of the cases is as follows: 61 cases, including medical staff in HTS-held areas in Idlib, parts of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, and 107 cases in the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions, north of Aleppo.

In August, SOHR documented the death of an elderly woman infected with the coronavirus in al-Dana town in Idlib countryside. Another case died in the town of Souran in the northern Aleppo countryside during the same month.
