Fourth attack on Syria in September | Israeli missiles pound “Defence Factories” in Aleppo’s Sfirah

SOHR activists have reported hearing loud explosions in Aleppo city and countryside in the early hours of Friday morning. The explosions were caused by a fresh round of Israeli missile attacks on Syrian territory, which hit the area of “Defence Factories” near Al-Sfirah in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, where positions of Iranian-backed militias are located.

Meanwhile, the Syrian regime’s air defences intercepted the missiles and managed to down some, but no further details have been reported yet about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the recent attack.

On September 3, reliable SOHR sources confirmed that airstrikes, executed at dawn by unidentified jets but believed to be Israeli, pounded positions of Iranian forces and Iranian-backed militias in Al-Thallathat area in Al-Bokamal desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. SOHR activists documented the killing of nine Iranian-backed militiamen, in addition to injuries to others due to this attack.

SOHR sources had reported that unidentified jets, believed to be Israeli, struck at dawn a position of the Iraqi Hezbollah about five km away from Qallat Al-Rahbah on the outskirts of Al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The attack left seven militiamen of the Iraqi Hezbollah dead. The death toll was expected to rise because of the serious injuries of some casualties, in addition to unconfirmed reports about more casualties.

A day earlier, Observatory activists monitored Israeli airstrikes on the perimeter of T4 airbase in the eastern countryside of Homs, in addition to Iranian positions in the area. The attack was carried out from the airspace of the Syrian desert which is the same airspace used by the international coalition.
