Coronavirus | 20 new confirmed cases in north-western Syria, and total number of recovery cases rises to 86

Health authorities have recorded 20 new coronavirus cases in north-western Syria. Breakdown of the cases is as follows: seven in al-Bab city, seven in Jarabulus city two in Azaz and four in Idlib.

The total number of recovery cases has risen to 86.

The city of Salqin in Idlib countryside has recorded today the first confirmed case of the coronavirus.

According to Observatory statistics, the number of confirmed cases, since July 9 to date, rose to 190, including two doctors were residing in Turkey.

Breakdown of the cases is as follows: 65 cases, including medical staff in HTS-held areas in Idlib, parts of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, and 123 cases in the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions, north of Aleppo.

In August, SOHR documented the death of an elderly woman infected with the coronavirus in al-Dana town in Idlib countryside. Another case died in the town of Souran in the northern Aleppo countryside during the same month.

The Syrian Observatory had documented the death of a doctor who was infected with the coronavirus in northern Aleppo countryside, which is under the control of Turkish-backed factions.
