Highest daily coronavirus cases | 52 new confirmed cases, and total number of infected people increases to 265 in north-western Syria

Health authorities have recorded 52 new coronavirus cases in north-western Syria. Breakdown of the cases is as follows: eight in al-Bab city, seven in the village of Turkman Barh, six in Afrin, six in Jabal Saman and 25 in Idlib.

This is the highest number of coronavirus cases since the outbreak of the pandemic in north-western Syria.

According to Observatory statistics, the number of confirmed cases, since July 9 to date, rose to 265, including two doctors were residing in Turkey.

Breakdown of the cases is as follows: 96 cases, including medical staff in HTS-held areas in Idlib, parts of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia, and 167 cases in the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions, north of Aleppo.

In August, SOHR documented the death of an elderly woman infected with the coronavirus in al-Dana town in Idlib countryside. Another case died in the town of Souran in the northern Aleppo countryside during the same month.

The Syrian Observatory had documented the death of a doctor who was infected with the coronavirus in northern Aleppo countryside, which is under the control of Turkish-backed factions.
