Turkish forces tour M4 alone, as Russian forces refuse to run joint patrol

SOHR activists have monitored intensive deployment of Russian forces on Latakia-Aleppo international highway (M4), in Idlib countryside. Meanwhile, Turkish reconnaissance drones were seen flying over the area, then a Turkish patrol was conducted later on the M4 highway.

It is worth noting that a Russian-Turkish joint patrol was supposed to run on the M4 highway. However, the Russians refused to conduct a joint patrol with the Turkish forces for unknown reasons.

On August 25, Observatory activists monitored intensive deployment of Turkish troops along Latakia-Aleppo international highway (M4) in south and west Idlib countryside, as a part of preparations to run a joint patrol with the Russians.

A Russian-Turkish joint patrol later set off from Tarnabeh village in eastern Idlib, heading Ain Hour area in northern Latakia. However, the patrol came under attack once again, as a Russian armored vehicle was shot with RPG nearby Uram Al-Juz in western Idlib, but no casualties were reported.
