Airstrikes Kill Ten pro-Iran Militiamen in Syria: Monitor

ERBIL – Airstrikes in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor left at least ten pro-Iran militiamen killed on Monday, a war monitor revealed.

Unknown warplanes, believed to be Israeli, hit the positions of the Iran-backed militias in al-Bokamal city of Deir ez-Zor province, killing ten, the majority of whom were said to be Iraqis, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

“The airstrikes resulted in the death of ten Iran-backed militiamen (eight Iraqis and two Syrians), while ambulances were seen rushing from Al-Bokamal city to the targeted sites,” SOHR added.

“The airstrikes also destroyed ammunition depots and vehicles of the Iran-backed militias.”
