Deir Ezzor | SDF members open fire on ferry carrying civilians, killing and injuring six

SOHR activists have documented the killing of a civilian woman and the injury of five others, including one woman, as SDF members opened machinegun fire on a ferry transporting passengers between the Euphrates river’s banks in Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. It is worth noting that the river crossing where the incident took place is a link between SDF-held areas in eastern Euphrates and regime-controlled areas in western Euphrates.

After this attack, residents attacked with light weapons SDF positions near the Euphrates river near the area where the incident took place.

On August 29, Observatory activists documented the killing of a little girl and the injury of two women after members of Syria Democratic Forces had opened fire on a ferry transporting people at the river crossing in Darnaj town in eastern Deir Ezzor. The crossing links SDF-held areas in eastern Euphrates region to areas under the control of regime forces in western Euphrates.

It is worth noting that the girl was from Al-Sha’faa village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzir, and she was on her way with her relatives to Damascus for receiving treatment.
