Turkish Armored Vehicles Damaged By Syrian Army Fire In Greater Idlib
On September 18 morning, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) targeted two armored vehicles of the Turkish Armed Forces in the southern part of Greater Idlib.
Syrian troops fired several projectiles at two vehicles, which were passing near the town of Marzaf. The attack was carried out from a position in the town of Kafr Battikh. Some opposition sources said the vehicles were targeted with artillery shells. However, anti-tank guided missiles were likely used.
According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the armored vehicles were damaged. Other sources claimed that a Turkish service member was injured. This has not been confirmed yet by the Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

The attack was likely a response to the recent provocations of Turkish-backed militants, who are violating the ceasefire in Greater Idlib on a regular basis.
Under the March 5 agreement with Russia, Turkey committed to neutralize radicals in Greater Idlib. Turkish forces are yet to fulfill this obligation. Moreover, some of the factions in the region are still receiving support from Ankara.
Greater Idlib ceasefire appears to be on the brink of collapse. Two days ago, Turkish Foreign Minister revealed that the last Russian-Turkish talks on the region were not productive, warning from a new escalation.
