After assassinating one of its agents | Military Intelligence-affiliated local faction opens fire on Daraa al-Balad neighbourhoods

Daraa governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that members of local factions operating in the Military Intelligence branch opened fire this evening with their medium and light weapons on al-Arbaeen neighbourhood, Jordan road and Sweidan market in Daraa al-Balad, after the assassination of a member affiliated with the same group.

SOHR sources said earlier that unknown assailants assassinated a member of the Military Intelligence branch. His body was found in Al-Arbaeen neighbourhood in Daraa al-Balad.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, landmines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from last June to date, to more than 673 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 449 persons, 122 of whom are civilians, including 12 women and 15 children, in addition to 209 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

79 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who made “settlements and reconciliations” with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 23 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 22 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
