Violations in “Peace Spring” areas | Turkish-backed factions impose levies on people in Ras Al Ain, and shoot civilian in Alouk village

SOHR activists say that members of Turkish-backed factions opened fire on civilians in the village of Alouk in Ras al-Ain countryside in the “Peace Spring” areas in Al-Hasakah countryside this evening, during a dispute over the theft of a motorcycle. The incident left a civilian seriously injured who was taken to Ras Al Ain hospital.

On the other hand, Turkish-backed factions continue to impose levies on civilians passing through their checkpoints. Observatory sources say that the checkpoint of the arc of Tal Half town, which belongs to al-Hamza Division, imposes illegal levies of up to 3,000 Syrian pounds on cars and motorcycles passing to and from the city of Ras al-Ain.

They also threaten passers-by to shoot and imprison them for dealing with SDF in order to force them to pay.

It is worth nothing that Al-Dardiri group is stationed at Tel Halaf checkpoint at the entrance to Ras al-Ain.

On September 16, the Syrian Observatory monitored Turkish-backed factions imposing 2,000 Syrian pounds levy on residents, as they crossed the checkpoints of these factions in Tel Khanzir and Khirbet Banat, in addition to arresting civilians from these villages.

Turkish-backed “Al-Hamza Division” had released a civilian who had been arrested a few days earlier from the area of Arbaeen near the village of Kozliya in Ras al-Ain countryside within the ” “Peace Spring areas, after his relatives paid a ransom of $2,000. The civilian was brutally beaten and tortured in Al-Hamza Division’s prisons, for previously dealing with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), after SDF took control of their areas.
