Al-Raqqah | Turkish forces and their proxies shell SDF positions in Tal Abyad countryside, and SDF respond
Syrian Observatory sources have monitored exchange of rocket and artillery fire on frontlines of the western countryside of Tal Abyad in northern Al-Raqqah, between Turkish forces and their proxy factions in “Peace Spring” areas on one hand, and Syria Democratic Forces on the other.
According to SOHR sources, Turkish forces and their proxies shelled positions in Abduki village and surrounding areas, Saronj village, and Qaza’li silos. Meanwhile, SDF responded by shelling the source of the Turkish-backed factions’ fire.
On September 17, reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that SDF group sneaked in the early hours of Thursday morning into positions of factions of the Turkish backed “National Army”, nearby Ain Issa town in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah, where clashes erupted between the two sides.
The clashes left casualties among the “National Army” factions, before SDF withdrew from these positions.
SOHR sources said a day earlier that Turkish forces and proxy factions shelled Saronj village in Tal Abyad countryside, north of Raqqa, targeting civilian houses and regime military posts.
