Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) | Turkish-backed factions arrest five young people for “dealing with SDF”

Syrian Observatory activists say that members of the Turkish-backed factions stormed several houses in Qatouf village in the southern countryside of Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye), in “Peace Spring” areas in Al-Hasakah countryside, arresting five young people for “dealing and communicating with SDF”.

It is worth noting that Turkish forces and their proxy factions are still continuing their violations in “Peace Spring” areas in both Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah provinces, against the remaining indigenous residents with the purpose of forcing them to displace from these areas.

As Turkey keeps following its policy of demographic change in areas it controls, Turkish intelligence and Turkish-backed factions continue their security campaigns and arrests of residents of the region’s towns and village under various pretexts, including “the dealing with Kurdistan Workers’ Party and communicating with SDF”.

Yesterday, Reliable sources told SOHR that smuggling operations were noticeably escalating in the villages of Madba’a, Luzi, Muraykis, and Shukriyyah in the countryside of Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye), in areas under the control of Turkish forces and their proxy factions operating under the banner of “Peace Spring” in rural Al-Hasakah.

These smuggling operations were active from these villages to Turkey by indigenous residents and others, who came to these areas after the factions captured them.

According to SOHR sources, the people of several villages in Ras Al-Ain countryside (Sere Kaniye) had been displaced due to the ongoing violations by Turkish-backed factions, the escalating security chaos in the region, and the poor services, facilities and infrastructure in the towns and villages of Ras Al-Ain countryside.
