Sweeping operations on Syria-Iraq border | With International Coalition air support, SDF search for ISIS cells in north-eastern Deir Ezzor

Reliable sources have told the Syrian Observatory that Syria Democratic Forces, backed by International Coalition aircraft, launched a sweeping campaign in the north-eastern desert of Deir Ezzor near Syria-Iraqi border, searching for ISIS cells. This campaign comes with a purpose of blocking the ways used by ISIS to travel between Syria and Iraq and smuggle their goods.

It is worth noting that ISIS cells have recently stepped up their operations in SDF-controlled areas throughout Deir Ezzor through assassinations against civilians and SDF members.
