Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) | Residents protest ongoing violations by Turkish-backed factions

SOHR sources have monitored a demonstration staged by the residents of the Turkish-controlled village of Qatouf in the southern countryside of Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye), protesting the ongoing violations by the Turkish-backed factions in the region. SOHR sources have reported that militiamen of “Suleiman Shah” stormed houses in that village this morning, arresting at least six persons for unknown reasons. This action comes three days after a similar arbitrary arrest.

On September 24, Observatory activists said that members of the Turkish-backed factions stormed several houses in Qatouf village in the southern countryside of Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye), in “Peace Spring” areas in Al-Hasakah countryside, arresting five young people for “dealing and communicating with SDF”.

It is worth noting that Turkish forces and their proxy factions are still continuing their violations in “Peace Spring” areas in both Al-Hasakah and Al-Raqqah provinces, against the remaining indigenous residents with the purpose of forcing them to displace from these areas.

As Turkey keeps following its policy of demographic change in areas it controls, Turkish intelligence and Turkish-backed factions continue their security campaigns and arrests of residents of the region’s towns and villages under various pretexts, including “the dealing with Kurdistan Workers’ Party and communicating with SDF”.
