Darra | Unknown gunmen attack commander of Military Intelligence branch, and others detonate IED near people gathering in Daraa countryside

Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that unidentified gunmen targeted a commander of the Military Intelligence’s local committees in the town of Al-Sanamin in northern countryside of Daraa. The attack caused material damage while the commander survived.

Meanwhile, a number of civilians sustained injuries of varying severity, as an IED was detonated by unknown assailants near a wedding celebration in the town of Heett in Daraa countryside.

This brings the number of attacks and assassination attempts in various forms and methods by detonating IEDs, landmines, booby-trapped vehicles and shootings from last June to date, to more than 688 attacks.

While the number of those who killed and died in the same period has risen to 454 persons, 126 of whom are civilians, including 12 women and 15 children, in addition to 210 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

79 members of opposition factions were also killed, those who struck reconciliation deals with the regime and became members of regime security services, including former leaders, and 23 members of Syrian militias affiliated to Lebanese “Hezbollah” and Iranian forces, in addition to 22 members of so-called “Fifth Corps”.
