More than two months after its deployment | SDF withdraws from most of its security posts on the bank of Euphrates River in rural Deir ez-Zor

Deir ez-Zor governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that the SDF withdrew from most of its security and guard posts stationed along the Euphrates River in the area from the city of Al-Busayrah to the village of Jadid Akidat, which includes the villages of Abreeha, Al-Subha and al-Dahla in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

This comes more than two months after the SDF deployed in those areas, coinciding with a security campaign supported by the International Coalition.

The mosques of al-Busayrah in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour have announced a curfew starting from this evening until further notice.

On July 17, SDF deployed its checkpoints and patrolled in the town of al-Busayrah, the village of Abriha, the village of Al-Zar and the town of Al-Shuhayl in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

SDF had stationed in schools and public facilities in these areas.

Reliable sources had told SOHR that SDF stormed river crossings used for smuggling goods from areas under their control to regime-held areas on the opposite bank.

SOHR sources reported earlier that Syria Democratic Forces launched a new security campaign, backed by the International Coalition, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The security forces carried out several raids in an area from Al-Busayra city to Theban town, including Al-Raz, Al-Shuhayl and Hawayij.

This campaign coincided with the deployment of the raiding forces in the neighbourhoods and streets of these areas after they cordoned off these areas completely, in addition to imposing a full curfew and closing all markets, shops and bread bakeries.
