Clamping down on civilians | HTS confiscates and prevents Afrin good from entering its areas, and asks displaced people in camps to pay annual rent

Displaced people in the “al-Deir camp” near the town of Talada in the northern Idlib countryside refused to pay an annual rent of 50 TL for the HTS’ Office of Displaced People in the northern Idlib Countryside of the Liberation of Al-Sham, in return for keeping the camp in its place.

According to Observatory sources, the “Salvation Government” demanded, through the “Office of Displaced People Management”, the director of “al-Deir camp” sign new contracts with the displaced people, renew the lease with the new inhabitants and pay 50 Turkish liras for each tent with an area of 100 meters.

The land on which the “al-Deir camp” is located is a public property, unfit for agriculture or housing, while some 150 families live in tragic conditions, with high prices and lack of job opportunities, local sources added.

On the other hand, HTS is clamping down on civilians, and the high prices in its areas to support their own products and companies.

Syrian Observatory sources have reported that HTS searches vehicle tanks and confiscates excess diesel, as well as preventing vegetables and fruit from areas held by Turkish-backed factions from entering its areas, given the price differences between the two regions. While smuggling of livestock and some goods from Idlib to areas held by Turkish-backed factions is on the rise.
