Idlib | Opposition factions repel infiltration attempt by regime forces in countryside, and regime forces shell villages of Jabal al-Zawiya

SOHR sources say that the “National Front” factions were able to repel an infiltration attempt and plant landmines regime forces on the Arbekh frontline, east of the town of Taftanaz in Idlib countryside, coinciding with exchange fire with heavy and medium weapons.

On the other hand, regime forces shelled the town of Kansafra, Al-Fatira, Kafr Aweid and Safohin in Jabal al-Zawiya in Idlib countryside. No casualties have been reported so far.

SOHR sources said earlier that regime forces and loyalists shelled villages and positions in Sahl al-Ghab, north-west Hama countryside, killing a flock of sheep and causing material damage in the village of Qulaydin.

Meanwhile, the factions targeted the concentrations of regime forces with heavy artillery near the villages of Al-Bahsa and Beit Hasno in Sahl al-Ghab, leaving casualties among regime loyalists.       

Regime forces also shelled the Kabana hills in Jabal al-Akrad and related supply routes in the north-eastern Latakia countryside.

In this context, the factions have targeted regime forces’ positions in the village of Akko and other locations in the Latakia countryside. No casualties have been reported so far.

Syrian Observatory activists monitored exchange of shelling this morning on several frontlines in the southern countryside of Idlib. Opposition factions and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham shelled regime positions in Kafr Nubl and Hazarin, along with regime shelling on towns and villages in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in southern Idlib. Meanwhile, Russian reconnaissance drones were seen flying over the area.
