Security campaign | Turkish-backed factions arrest ISIS members in Azaz

Aleppo Province- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that Turkish-backed factions arrested people for “belonging” to Islamic State cells in a security operation carried out in the city of Azaz today.

The city of Azaz has witnessed this evening a state of alert by Turkish-backed factions, setting up checkpoints at the city’s entrances and the deployment on the Azaz-Afrin road, coinciding with the security operation.

Turkish-backed factions had arrested earlier a number of ISIS members in the cities of Al-Bab and Azaz in Aleppo countryside.

In May this year, the Syrian Observatory monitored an International Coalition drone striking a vehicle on Sheikh Iskan road in the countryside of Janderas, north-west of Aleppo, killing a former leader of the Islamic State, who was constantly present between the Idlib areas and Janderas area in Afrin countryside.
