Al-Quneitra | Clashes erupt between local gunmen and “military security” members in Mumtannah following escalating arrests

Al-Quneitra Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that fierce clashes erupted in Mumtannah town in the central countryside of Al-Quneitra, between members of the regime’s military security service and gunmen from the town. However, no casualties have been reported.

 

According to SOHR sources, the clashes came after security campaign by the military security service, during which adult men and young males from Mumtannah town were arrested and handed over to Sa’sa’ branch in Rif Dimashq.

 

On September 29, reliable sources told SOHR that unknown gunmen opened machinegun fire on a regime patrol on the outskirts of Jaba town in Al-Quneitra countryside. The attack left two regime soldiers injured.

 

While on September 23, SOHR sources reported an explosion in the regime-controlled city of Al-Baath in Al-Quneitra countryside. The explosion was caused by the detonation of an IED near Al-Quneitra civil registry in Al-Baath city, which caused material damage only.
