ISIS resurgence in SDF-held areas | Two unidentified gunmen try to assassinate former member of “Caliphate Cubs” in Deir ez-Zor countryside

Deir ez-Zor Province- Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle targeted a former member of the Islamic State in the SDF-held city of al-Busayrah in eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour, seriously injuring him.

It is worth nothing that the SDF released him earlier after being detained for a year for belonging to ISIS’ Cubs of the Caliphate.

SOHR sources said earlier that a civilian was seriously injured today, after being targeted by two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle in the town of Al-Shuhail in Deir ez-Zor countryside.

It iis worth nothing that the victim is a member of the Civil Council of the town of al-Shuhail. The areas of Deir al-Zour, which are under the control of SDF, are witnessing a security chaos and a surge in ISIS cells’ activities.

Yesterday, Observatory sources reported seeing two members of the Islamic State carrying machine guns, roaming the streets of al-Busayrah city in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor province, urging women who work in shops to dress according to the sharia as described, and warned them against violating orders.
