Death Toll of Syrian Mercenaries Exceeds 100 in Nagorno-Karabakh

The death toll of Syrians in the Karabakh region is over 100 after more than a week of fighting.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) stated: “the total number of fatalities among the Syrian mercenaries thrown into the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia has reached 107.”

Meanwhole, the president of the European Council tweeted that: The ceasefire for humanitarian reasons between Armenia and Azerbaijan is an essential step towards de-escalation.

He called on all parties to respect the ceasefire and avoid further violence, asking for the necessity to resume negotiations as soon as possible.
Armenia and Azerbaijan armies exchanged accusations of night bombing targeting civilian areas and causing casualties.
Aryk Harutyunyan, the leader of the Nagorno-Karabakh region, confirmed that the situation is “calmer” than the previous day, pointing to the absence of bombing on Sunday morning. However, he spoke of “an exchange of some bullets and mortar shells on the front line.”
The International Committee of the Red Cross announced its readiness to organize the exchange of bodies and prisoners as per yesterday’s truce.
