Russian airstrikes on Aleppo-Hama-Raqqa triangle | Battles renew between regime forces and ISIS members

SOHR sources say that the “Aleppo-Hama-Raqqah” triangle area in the Syrian desert is witnessing continued clashes between the Islamic State members one one side, and regime forces and loyalists on the other, in continuous attempts by regime forces to minimize ISIS operations in the area. The clashes coincided with intensive Russian airstrikes targeting ISIS strongholds.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported hearing explosions and gunfire nearby Oqayrabat town in the eastern countryside of Hama, as ISIS members attacked regime positions in Mustarihat Tahmaz area.

The attack left casualties among regime forces and ISIS, while vehicles and weapons of both sides were destroyed.

On October 6, Observatory activists reported an attack by Islamic State cells on regime positions in al-Fasedeh area, Al-Tanahuj and Totyan mountains in the eastern countryside of Hama. The attack coincided with Russian airstrikes.
