Despite orders by SDF Commander-in-Chief | “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” continues recruiting children in north and north-eastern Syria

SOHR activists say that the so-called “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” (Revolutionary Youth), one of the military structures in the areas held by the Self-Administration, SDF and north and east of Syria, continues to recruit children despite the growing popular anger and resentment and repeated demands, particularly by SOHR. However, the kidnappings of children are still underway without deterrent, despite orders by the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (Mazloum Abdi) to put an end to these violations.

The Syrian Observatory has monitored a new kidnapping of a 16-year-old girl, known by her initials as (F.D.), from the area of Ain al-Arab (Kobane). The girl was kidnapped and recruited into the ranks of “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah”, amid calls by her family for her to be brought back, a thing which is echoed by the of parents of the kidnapped children. Meanwhile, parents continue to call on the Syrian Observatory to exert more pressure on the relevant parties to secure the release their children.

Three days ago, SOHR sources said that despite the growing popular anger and resentment and the “unheeded” appeals to relevant bodies, “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” (The Revolutionary Youth) operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration and Syria Democratic Forces, continues to recruit children in northern and north-eastern Syria, as it kidnap children under the age of 18, training them in their military camps, and throwing them later to fighting on the frontlines.

In this context, very reliable sources have informed the Syrian Observatory that “Al-Shabiba Al-Thawriyah” kidnapped a girl known by her initials as (R.A.) from Al-Darbasiyyah city in rural Al-Hasakah, and took her later to “Al-Haykal Al-Askary” camps. It is worth noting that the girl was born in 2004 (only 16 years old), while her family refuse the recruitment of their daughter for fear of her life, calling for her to be brought back immediately.
