Coronavirus in regime-held areas | Number of confirmed cases rises to some 39,000, and deaths to 2,100

As regime authorities continue keeping the real number of deaths and infection cases with coronavirus secret, Syrian Observatory, through reliable medical sources in regime-held areas, continues monitoring and tracking the developments of coronavirus outbreaks in the Syrian provinces.

Some 4,750 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in all Syrian provinces in the past few days, while 260 other cases died of the virus in the same period. Meanwhile, most of the infection cases and deaths are still documented in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus and Rif Dimashq, amid disastrous medical situation.

According to SOHR statistics, based on reports obtained from reliable medical sources in regime-controlled areas, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases has reached nearly 38,600, of which 5,700  recovered, and 2,100 died. The cases are distributed across all Syrian provinces. However, most of the deaths and infections have been in Aleppo, Damascus and Rif Dimashq.
