Azaz | “Military Police” kill Turkish-backed militiaman, after refusing to stop at security checkpoint

Reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that the “Military Police” opened fire on a member of the Turkish-backed “Al-Hamzat Division”, as he refused to stop at the police’s checkpoint in Azaz city, killing him immediately.

On October 12, reliable sources informed SOHR that members of a checkpoint of the Turkish-backed “Military Police” in the Turkish-controlled city of Afrin arrested a doctor, the director of a hospital and a person escorting them, while they were crossing the checkpoint.

According to SOHR sources, a verbal argument started between the doctor and the director on one hand, and members of the military police stationed at a checkpoint near the entrance of Afrin city on the other. The argument evolved in which the checkpoint’s members forced the doctor, the hospital’s director and the third person who was escorting them step out of the car and beat them brutally before the area’s residents.

Moreover, the Turkish-backed members shot the three persons at legs, before taking them to unknown destination. It is worth noting that the doctor and the hospital’s director have been displaced from eastern Ghouta.
