Coronavirus in NE Syria | “Salvation Government” issues decision to close public places, as death toll rises

The “Salvation Government” has issued today a decision to close restaurants, wedding halls, public swimming pools and gyms, in addition to preventing popular bazaars and markets selling birds, animals and motorcycles due to the large increase in the number of coronavirus infections, starting today until the end of this month.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented a spike in the death toll of coronavirus in northwestern Syria. 23 people died so far in areas under the control of the “Salvation government” in Idlib and surrounding areas, and areas controlled by the “Interim Government” in north Aleppo countryside.
