Al-Quneitra | Three Hezbollah-backed militiamen killed in Israeli attacks on school in northern countryside

SOHR activists have documented the death of three militiamen of groups loyal to the Lebanese Hezbollah in the Israeli attack which took place in the early hours of Wednesday morning and targeted Al-Huriyyah school in the northern countryside of Al-Quneitra. The fatalities included a Syrian militiaman, while the nationalities of the others are not.

Observatory sources reported earlier this morning that the Israeli rocket attacks which hit Al-Quneitra northern countryside in the early hours of Wednesday morning targeted a school hosting groups loyal to the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces in Al-Huriyyah village, amid confirmed reports of casualties. It is worth nothing that the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian-backed militias are considerably active in Al-Quneitra countryside which experienced repeated attacks in the past few years.

On September 14, SOHR activists reported hearing six loud explosions in Al-Bokamal city in Deir Ezzor countryside. According to SOHR sources, the explosions were caused by airstrikes by unknown jets, but believed to be Israeli, which targeted Iranian-backed militias’ positions in “Al-Thallathat” area in the south of Al-Bokamal city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, near the Syria-Iraq border.

The airstrikes resulted in the death of ten Iranian-backed militiamen (eight Iraqis and two Syrians), while ambulances were seen rushing from Al-Bokamal city to the targeted sites. The airstrikes also destroyed ammunition depots and vehicles of the Iranian-backed militias.
