Death toll update | Over 20 people killed and injured in Russian high-explosive rocket attack on market and crude oil refineries in Turkish-backed areas

SOHR activists say that three people were killed and 18 were injured and sustained various degrees of burns, as a result of a Russian attack on a market and primitive oil refineries in the village of Al-Kusa near the town of Jarabulus in the north-eastern rural Aleppo in the areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions.

SOHR sources have just reported explosions in the north-eastern Aleppo countryside, which is under the control of Turkish-backed factions, as a result of high-explosive rockets fired by the Russian base “Hmeimim”, targeting oil market and primitive refineries in the village of Al-Kusa near the town of Jarabulus in Aleppo countryside, leaving casualties and causing significant material damage.

At the end of 2019, the Syrian Observatory monitored airstrikes by Russian jets targeting oil refineries in Tarhin, Kusa and Tel Shair in rural Jarabulus and Al-Bab, northeast of Aleppo, within areas controlled by Turkish-backed factions in the north-eastern Aleppo countryside.

The airstrikes were coordinated with the Turkish government and left eight unidentified people dead.
