NW Syria | “Salvation Government” levels up price and weight of bread pack

The HTS-backed “Salvation Government” has notified all bread bakeries in areas under its control of the new price of a bread pack. From tomorrow, Sunday, a bread pack will be sold for 2.50 Turkish liras with an increase of an estimated 50 Turkish piasters. Furthermore, the weight of a bread pack will be risen from 725 g to 850 g.

On September 25, the “Salvation Government” issued a decision imposing the dealing in the Turkish currency and setting new price and weight of a bread pack in areas under its control. According to this decision which came after considerable plunge of the Syrian currency, a bread pack of 725 g would be sold for two Turkish liras.

While in December 2019, the “Salvation Government” issued a decision decreasing a bread pack from 900 g to 800 g, instead of raising its price which was 200 SYL at that time.

That decision came after the “Salvation Government” received complaints from private bread bakeries, as the government said.
