Deir Ezzor | SDF storm crossings used for smuggling at Euphrates river, destroying ferries

Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: A large security group of Syria Democratic Forces raided river crossings today in Al-Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, destroying ferries used for transporting oil. The raiding forces also targeted with RPGs and heavy machineguns ferries on the opposite bank of the Euphrates river near the regime-controlled town of Bakrus.

On October 22, the town of Al-Suhayl experienced a state of tension between the town’s people and Syria Democratic Forces following the arrest of a smuggler from the area, while he was receiving treatment at the hospital.

SDF also stormed crossings used for smuggling and destroyed several ferries, after bringing large reinforcement.

It is worth noting that areas in Deir Ezzor witnessed a surge in smuggling operations between the regime-controlled areas and SDF-held areas, were smugglers used ferries and rafts to transport goods and oil across the Euphrates River.
